Australia and Vietnam have signed an historic feature film co-production Memorandum Of Understanding.
The first co-production Memorandum Of Understanding is for the feature film Vietnam Vietnam to be directed by David Elfick. The film will be shot entirely in Vietnam with post production in Australia.
Mr Bui Dinh Hac, the Director General of the Vietnam Cinema Department, and Cathy Robinson, Chief Executive of the Australian Film Commission signed the document.
"The cultural and commercial possibilities of this breakthrough project are fascinating", said Cathy Robinson at the Sydney signing. "The AFC was delighted to facilitate this co-production agreement and David Elfick is to be congratulated on his usual tenacity in getting things done".
David Elfick said: "I hope this significant agreement will further Australia's relationship with Vietnam and that the film will help people to understand the Vietnamese people's experience".
Vietnam Vietnam will be produced by Jonathan Shteinman, Victoria Treole and David Phu An Chiem.
