The AFC undertakes an annual analysis of the Australian share of the box office providing a context in which to examine the success of Australian film. While a useful tool in understanding local industry performance, the AFC asserts annual box office results should not be elevated to the sole and defining indicator of success of Australian film. Box office figures however, are significant in analysing the workings of the industry.
