The AFC is offering Travel Grants for producers to attend two markets in the New Year - the European Film Market (EFM), held in tandem with the 58th Berlin International Film Festival, 7-17 February 2008, and the 9th Annual Kidscreen Summit, the largest event for kids entertainment executives taking place in New York from 13-15 February 2008.
In 2007, the European Film Market had over 5000 attendees, including 761 buyers and representatives from over 56 countries and is considered as one of the must attend markets on the international calendar. Grants available are Type B for market-experienced producers and Type C for producers developing market experience. To be eligible to apply producers must have previous producer credits and at least one feature film in development at a market ready stage. Producers can apply for up to $5000 towards their travel expenses.
More information about the EFM can be found on the AFC website www.afc.gov.au/marketingyourfilm/markets/market_171.aspx
The AFC is also, for the first time, offering market travel grants for two Type B (Market Experienced) Producers to attend Kidscreen Summit, which in 2007, broke attendance records attracting 1300+ delegates from 38 countries. Kid's executives attend to engage in critical dialogue on issues that affect the industry; understand current market needs, opportunities and challenges; learn more about key innovators and their vision; and find and share ideas that will drive their businesses forward. Producers can apply for up to $5000 towards their travel expenses.
The Travel Grant application form and guidelines are available to download from the AFC website www.afc.gov.au/funding/travel/cannes/fund_42.aspx
