Leading Australian writer/director and television producer Claire Jager will join the Australian Film Commission's (AFC) Film Development Division as Project Manager.
Claire brings extensive experience to her new role, having run Arcimedia, a successful production company for the past three years. Arcimedia currently has a number of projects in post-production, including The Magic Bullet for SBS, and the AFC/ABC interactive broadband project A Stowaway's Guide to the Pacific.
Claire was previously Executive Producer and series producer for the ABC's Natural History Unit and the Head of Factual Division of Artists Services. She has held positions as Documentary Manager at Film Victoria and Documentary Commissioning Editor for SBS Independent. Claire's recent credits include Stories from the Stone Age (ABC), Testing Taklo (SBS) and, in association with Arcimedia, Rainbow Bird and Monster Man and Troubled Minds.
Claire will be based in the Melbourne office working alongside Project Managers Karin Altmann, Peter Kaufmann and Mike Cowap. Richard Brennan will return to the Sydney office where he joins Project Managers Megan Simpson Huberman, Stephen Wallace and Kim Lewis. Jackie McKimmie remains the AFC's representative in Brisbane. "We are delighted that Claire is joining our team of Film Development Project Managers. Claire's extensive industry experience and her involvement in multi-platform projects will be invaluable to the work of the AFC in supporting Australian screen culture," said the AFC's Acting Director of Film Development, Lori Flekser. The AFC's Film Development Division provides support for both practitioners and projects through development and production assistance for feature films, short feature films, short films, documentaries, animation and interactive digital media. Film Development Project Managers form part of a team jointly responsible for assessing applications for development or production funding, and managing and monitoring the development of the Division's programs and projects. |
