Berlin scout visits Australia

In September the AFC will host returning festival guest Maryanne Redpath, from the Berlinale (the Berlin International Film Festival). Maryanne is coming to Australia to view recent Australian feature films for potential selection as world/international premieres.

The Berlin festival is an important showcase for Australian films and is regarded in the world's top three festivals for feature films (along with Cannes and Venice). More than 19,000 film professionals from 120 countries are accredited for the Berlin International Film Festival every year.

The European Film Market (EFM), the film trade fair integrated into the Berlinale has developed into one of the most important events for international film business.

The next Berlinale will take place 7-17 February 2008.

If you are interested in having your feature film viewed by Maryanne please firstly ensure your film meets the festival's criteria by going to www.berlinale.de, then contact Dale Fairbairn, Marketing Officer Industry Development, by 14 September - dale.fairbairn@afc.gov.au
