Over 1,400 people attended Big Screen in Yamba NSW in April, a 40% increase from the first festival in 2007. Ms Sandra Woods, representing Janelle Saffin MP Member for Page, Cr Jim Simmons Clarence Valley Council and Wendy Hughes introduced The View From Greenhaven to an opening night crowd of 141.
Next stops for Big Screen are Victorian towns Cann River and Mallacoota on 9-12 May and Briagalong on 6-8 June. Mallacoota and Cann River will host Big Screen for the first time with a weekend of excellent Australian films. Brothers Kenn and Simon MacRae, directors of the Project Greenlight film The View From Greenhaven, will introduce their film. The brothers will also host a filmmaking workshop talking about their experiences in filmmaking, including the filmmaking process, how they started and the paths to making short and feature films.
