Tropfest media release
Sony Tropfest once again challenges filmmakers nationwide, with the announcement of the 2005 Tropfest Signature Item (TSI): UMBRELLA.
Each year Sony Tropfest requests suggestions for potential TSIs both from general public and members of TropClub. This year Sony Tropfest HQ was flooded with suggestions and UMBRELLA was selected by Founder/Creative Director John Polson. The TSI is chosen for its capacity to encourage creativity and short film production.
As always, filmmakers are required to include the Tropfest Signature Item (TSI) in their film to show that it has been made specifically for Sony Tropfest. In addition, films must be no longer than 7 minutes and Sony Tropfest must be the film's first public screening.
With the announcement of the TSI filmmakers can get a head start on their entries for Sony Tropfest 2005. All entries must be submitted to Sony Tropfest by 6.00pm, Thursday 20 January 2005 and entry forms will be made available online from October 2004.
Short film enthusiasts around Australia will unite under the stars to watch the 16 finalist films at Sony Tropfest on Sunday 27 February 2005.
