The crossroads beckon in six interlocking stories revealing
the isolation and tribulation of life in Sydney's Kings Cross.

Writer, director, producer and visual artist, Claire McCarthy has been making internationally acclaimed short films and documentaries for over a decade, including Tinsel (1999), Square Space (2000), Starbaby (2001) and Skin (2006). Cross Life, Claire's debut feature, screened at Sydney Film Festival and Pusan International Film Festival in 2007. Her documentary Sisters in Calcutta is due for release in 2008.

Louise Smith gained an international reputation for her collaborations with stellar directing talents Nash and Joel Edgerton, renowned actor Rachel Griffiths, and internationally recognised commercials director Derin Seale. Her work has screened at festivals such as Telluride, Sundance, Aspen and Berlin and has been awarded honours by the Toronto Short Film Festival, Palm Springs and Puchon. In 2002 she co-produced the feature film The Rage in Placid Lake, starring Ben Lee, Rose Byrne, Garry McDonald and Miranda Richardson.

Andre Smith studied performance studies, theatre and media through Sydney University and the University of New South Wales. Having performed in numerous plays, television dramas and commercials, Andre has also been involved in business development and marketing. In this capacity, Andre has been engaged in industries as diverse as agriculture and hospitality. Andre is currently working on a documentary about Indigenous spirituality in Australia.

Stephen Carnell has worked for over 20 years in senior positions in the advertising industry, has spoken at many Australian and overseas conferences and for the past three years has been the General Manager of not-for-profit group the Kings Cross Partnership.
