Swimming Upstream is based on Anthony Fingleton's book of the struggle to become an Olympic swimmer despite an overbearing, alcoholic father and long-suffering mother.

Russell Mulcahy directed the first video to air on MTV: Video Killed the Radio Star. As a feature film director he received widespread acclaim for the hit action films Highlander and Highlander II. He subsequently directed the thriller Ricochet starring Denzel Washington and The Shadow starring Alec Baldwin. His most recent credits include pilot episodes for Queer as Folk and the Golden Globe-winning On the Beach, both for Showtime.

Howard Baldwin, Karen Baldwin, Bill Immerman and Paul Pompian are US-based producers. Recently, Howard, Karen and Bill established Crusader Entertainment, whose goal is to create inspirational, historical, sports and adventure films that offer compelling and positive messages. They recently released Children on their Birthdays, based on the short story by Truman Capote.
Andrew Mason is one of the producers of The Matrix sequels, due for release in May and November 2003. He also served as executive producer on Kangaroo Jack, Scooby-Doo, Queen of the Damned and Red Planet. Andrew recently produced the upcoming romantic comedy, Danny Deckchair.
